Overview of Activities and Contributions
The Keizer Fire Foundation remains steadfast in its mission to support our community, firefighters, and their families. Below are the highlights of our contributions and activities for 2024:
- Life Jacket Safety Initiative:
We purchased and distributed 20 life jackets to replenish the inventory at the local “Kids Don’t Float” life jacket loaner stations. This ensures that families visiting Keizer Rapids Park have access to vital safety equipment. - AED Maintenance and Support:
- Replaced 6 AED batteries.
- Supplied 4 sets of electrodes to maintain the functionality of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) previously donated to the community. This ensures continued access to lifesaving equipment.
- Support for Firefighters:
- Provided essential supplies, including snacks, food, drinks, and Liquid IV hydration packets, to support firefighters actively engaged in wildland fire operations during the summer.
- Supplied snack baskets to families of wildland firefighters to ease their stress and show appreciation while their loved ones were away serving the community.
- Community Engagement:
- For the second consecutive year, we sponsored and distributed free hotdogs at the Keizer Fire District Open House, fostering community spirit and connection.
